Big Line at Big Daddy's

A neighbor and I went to Big Daddy's on University to get some ribs. Was surprised to see a long line. We opted for the short line -- rib tips only -- but it still took about 45 minutes. I overheard one of the guys say that they had gone through a day's worth of meat in 3 hours.

Back home, a quick search explained the line. Dara Moskowitz Grumdahl just wrote a gave Big Daddy's a rave review in City Pages.

Okay, so the secret's out. Explains all the hipsters in line. Here's hoping they all pick next Saturday to go for cupcakes so I won't have to wait so long.

Note: menu in the background is from the restaurant that used to occupy this space. Big Daddy's menu is rather simple: beef ribs, pork ribs, pork tips, and chicken, with sides of potato salad and coleslaw.
