It's been a dry fall.
Spent a good chunk of this afternoon planting 175 bulbs for a client. Dug eleven holes -- the first ten of which were through hard soil. It's good soil, just dry. For most of the locations, I hit clay about 5 inches down. Hard, dry clay. Ugh.
I was so happy when the shovel slid into the dirt at the last location. Could have saved myself an hour had all the holes been like that.
