I also love the garlic I buy at the St Paul farmer's market. Since you mentioned it was pricy, I wonder if you bought it from the man who charges $2.50/head? There is a farmer who sells it on the weekend, it's more reasonable. I've been tempted to buy him out. Next year, try buying some garlic early in the season (from the market), before it is dried. It's amazing.
